With user-centered approach, the goal was to redesign ASCENDtials website to make it easier for users to follow while staying true to its brand. and mission
Overview
I had the pleasure of working wth ASCENDtials as a part of their redesign project during the summer of 2024. I took on the role of a web designer and part of the Web Dev team, my responsibilities was to collaborate with the UX team in order to create a design that clean, effective, and made it easier for users to navgiate the website, while staying true to ASCENDtials brand and making concious decisions to reflect their mission.
Challenge
The website had a cluttered interface, making it difficult for users to navigate and find different programs within the organization. Users were facing issues with trying to sign up for dfferent events or to find events/programs with in the site, which was affecting new user subscription rates to the site. The website also lacked personalization and customization options, making it less engaging and user-friendly. Lastly, there was not a clear brandng that conveyed the message of the ASCENDtials brand, which is to help BIPOC communities and enviroment through different programs ASCENDTials offered.
